Breast augmentation with the Preservé® technique

Breast augmentation is a popular cosmetic procedure chosen to enhance the figure and boost self-confidence. The Preservé® technique stands out for its minimally invasive approach, designed to preserve breast tissue, minimise scarring and ensure a quick recovery, often under local anaesthesia. Dr Benjamin Sarfati offers this innovative method to his patients in Paris for an attractive, natural-looking result.

The Preservé® technique in breast surgery

The Preservé® breast augmentation technique is based on a tissue-sparing surgical approach: an inflatable balloon is used to create the implant pocket without aggressive dissection.

The implant (classic Ergonomix 2) is placed above the muscle, which ensures comfort and a natural look, with no unwanted effects from the pectoral muscles. A discreet scar of 2–2.5 cm is located in the inframammary fold, making it invisible, even in a swimsuit.

This method preserves the nerves and ligaments, ensuring stability and natural sensation.

Is Preservé® breast augmentation right for you?

The Preservé® technique is suitable for patients seeking a moderate increase in volume (1 to 2 cup sizes), generally between 200 and 330 cc (up to 400 cc in some cases).

It is ideal for slim or athletic women looking for a procedure that respects their anatomy.

This minimally invasive technique is recommended for:

  • Patients who wish to avoid general anaesthesia: it is performed under local anaesthesia, sometimes with light sedation
  • Patients who are reluctant to face a long recovery period: recovery is immediate or very rapid

Are there any contraindications to Preservé® breast enhancement?

Although minimally invasive, Preservé® breast augmentation is still a surgical procedure, so certain contraindications must be taken into account:

  • Active breast conditions (infection, tumour) or weak tissue
  • Current pregnancy or breastfeeding: surgery should take place once these stages are over
  • General medical conditions (diabetes, clotting disorders)
  • Insufficient fat reserves, if additional lipofilling is being considered

These factors are assessed during the pre-operative consultation to ensure the procedure is appropriate.

Results of Preservé® breast augmentation

From the very first days, the breasts have a shapely contour and a volume that is perfectly in proportion with the figure. Over the following weeks, their appearance continues to improve: the initial swelling gradually subsides, and the breasts soften and settle into their final shape.

One of the main advantages of this technique is that it respects the tissues, ensuring a particularly natural result in both look and feel. The implants blend seamlessly with the existing anatomy, creating an elegant cleavage without a stiff or artificial appearance. As the scar is hidden in the inframammary fold, there is no visible sign of surgery, even in a swimsuit or delicate lingerie.

Patients also appreciate the long-term stability of the result. The Preservé® technique reduces the risk of implant displacement or rotation thanks to precise positioning and a perfectly tailored pocket.

FAQ

Can I breastfeed after this surgery?

Yes. The mammary gland is preserved, which generally allows for normal breastfeeding.

Will the scar be visible in a swimsuit?

No. It is placed in the inframammary fold and becomes virtually invisible over time.

Is it painful?

Performing the procedure under local anaesthesia limits post-operative pain. Discomfort is moderate and well controlled with simple painkillers.

How long is the recovery?

A few days of rest are enough. Daily activities can be resumed the same day, and sport after about 3–4 weeks.

Is there a risk of cancer?

There is no evidence that implants increase the risk of breast cancer. Screening remains possible with mammography, ultrasound or MRI.
